In the processing of polymers by extrusion or injection molding one of the most important characteristics of a material is the Melt Flow Index. PTR - a measure of the rate of flow of molten polymer through the capillary die of standard dimensions at a given temperature and pressure.
PTR is a conditional value that characterizes the behavior of a polymer in a viscous-flow condition during processing it into the product. The viscosity of the polymer melt needs to be optimal.
